About Pastor Storm
In January of 1999, God called on me to start a Fundamental
Independent Baptist Church here in Florence, Arizona.
When we opened in April, the going was a struggle, but
God continued to bless. Over the years, God has given us
a beautiful building which we have used for his honor
and glory. God has allowed us to open a Christian School
in 2003 and in 2006, we opened our pre-school. We have
many different ministries which people can get involved
in, and everyone who attends, will leave with a
blessing. I would like to give you a personal invitation
to attend one of our many services.
In His Service,
Pastor and Friend,
Dale Storm
A True Story...
If your number was called...would you be ready?

It was 95 degrees on July 1, 1994, the wind was at 28 knots from
the west and it was clear with a few puffy cumulus
clouds in the sky. My wife, Carol, daughter Denyse and a
friend were all going to fly to a wedding in Iowa.
As we drove to the airport, we talked about the weekend ahead of
us. As I prepared the plane with a pre-flight and then
loaded it, there was excitement in everyone's tone.
We boarded the Cessna 172 and headed for the end of the runway. I
did my power up and checked for traffic. Before taking
off we had a moment to pray for a safe journey mercies
to our destination. I gave full throttle to the plane
and the engine responded as it had always done. We used
a little more runway to take off in due to the warm
humid weather, but the plane took off as usual.
As we neared a wooded area just past the airport, I noticed that
the air speed was going down. I lowered the nose a
little to gain air speed. I looked at the vertical speed
indicator; it read a decent of 300 feet per minute. I
was in a flat drop. We were only about 300 feet high at
the time.
Knowing it was inevitable that we were going to crash into the
woods, I pulled back on the yoke to bring the nose up
to slow us down as we hit the top of the trees. The
plane sat on the top of the trees for an instant; then
the left wing buckled and down the plane came. It felt
like a roller coaster ride going over the top but the
stop at the bottom was not the sudden rush back up the
other hill.
As I sat strapped into the pilot seat, I heard someone screaming my
name. It was Denyse who had been the first to regained
conscientiousness. I could feel blood dripping from my
head. I could not move my arms or legs; it was if I was
totally paralyzed.
I told Denyse and her friend to get out of the plane and that they
had to help Carol and I out. Her friend had a compound
fracture to his right arm and was in much pain. Carol
was trapped beside me and could not get out until I did.
I could smell smoke and see flames coming through the
firewall of the plane and I knew that it may be only
minutes until the plane was fully engulfed in flames.
Denyse and her friend pulled at me but it was to no avail, my foot
was caught under the instrument panel and they could not
get me out. I could feel the extensive heat from the
fire on my foot and was sure that would be the last time
I saw my daughter. Denyse reached into the flames and
twisted my ankle 180 degrees and my foot came out. Carol
pushed and Denyse pulled and they were able to free me
from the plane.
They pulled me about 30 feet away and I heard a loud explosion and
saw a ball of fire go up through the trees. I felt I was
still going to die. As I laid there on the ground,
Carol, who had more extensive injuries than me, took
care of me. Two verses came to my mind. One was fear not
for I am with thee. Be not dismayed; for I am thy God.
The other was, I will never leave you or forsake you. I
knew right then that I was going to make it.
Looking at Carol, I could see that she was turning ashen color and
was talking less and less. I felt helpless being an
Emergency medical Technician and not being able to help
someone who needed it. I prayed that God's will would be
done with all of us.
It was as if the Lord sent angels to help us. It seemed only a few
minutes and there were people there to help. One of the
first EMTs on the scene was a good friend and asked what
I needed. I told him to get the medical Helicopter. As
more people arrived, I was beginning to get some feeling
back into my extremities.
Carol and I were air lifted to a medical facility some 30 miles
away. Carol had two collapsed lungs, 28 broken bones, a
torn aorta and many cuts. The doctors worked on her for
hours and many prayed for her life to be spared. God was
gracious and spared her life. Though even if he had
taken her, she had the assurance that to be absent from
the body would be present with the Lord.
I had to have skin-graphs done to my left ankle and some
rehabilitation to go through. I knew that if I would
have died in that fiery plane that I would enter the
gates of heaven to meet the Lord.
Friend, as you have read this account of my family, who
could have been taken to their eternal destination.
Would you be ready if the time came for your life to be
required of you, that you would know beyond a shadow of
a doubt that you would spend eternity in heaven? If not,
let me show you how you can be sure...
